Six secondary school students accused of raping colleague remanded

A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Tuesday remanded six understudies of Lagelu Grammar School at the Agugu Police Station over supposed assault of a female partner.

The understudies Akeem Abee, 17; Olaiya Faruq, 16; Kazeem Awal, 16, Ajao Waris, 17; Alamu Boluwatife, 17; and Dauda Mubarak, 17-are confronting preliminary for scheme and assault.

The court didn’t take the request of the respondents.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Taiwo Oladiran, in his decision, requested the understudies to be remanded at Agugu Police Station rather than a remedial focus since they were all minors.

Oladiran in this manner deferred the issue till Friday for notice.

Prior, the Prosecutor, ASP Sunday Ogunremi had told the court that the respondents plotted to revoltingly attack the female understudy.

Ogunremi asserted that the respondents on Nov.17 at about 6.00pm at Lagelu Grammar School, Ibadan, had unlawful sexual relations with of the female understudy.

He said the offenses contradicted Sections 360 and 517 of the Criminal Code Cap 38, Vol. II, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
